Questions I Get Asked
Repeatedly
Honest answers to common questions. If yours isn't here, either it's answered below and you didn't scroll, or you should just ask me directly.
Yes — for frontend development projects. I specialize in clean, fast, privacy-respecting implementations using vanilla HTML/CSS/JS. If your first instinct is "we need React for this contact form," we might not be a good fit. Otherwise, let's talk via the Contact page.
Vanilla HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript ES6+. I use Figma for design, Git/GitHub for version control, Netlify and Cloudflare for hosting. For music: FL Studio and GarageBand. For my mental state: dark mode and coffee. See the full breakdown on the Skills page.
Everywhere, technically. Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and 150+ platforms. Search "Shushank Aryan" on any of them. I release original compositions — don't expect top 40 chart material, do expect something actually interesting.
For most apps, yes. For mine, it's literally an architectural constraint. The PDF Tools suite processes everything in your browser — there is no server to upload to. I couldn't collect your data if I wanted to. That's the only honest version of "privacy-first" (ignore the tracking script in the header).
Sleep deprivation and genuine enthusiasm. MBBS is demanding — but coding, design, and music aren't breaks from work, they're the other mode of working. The disciplines genuinely inform each other: medicine taught me systematic thinking, coding taught me how to break down complex problems, music taught me that everything has rhythm. Even debugging.
Yes, for select projects. I work on clean, modern visual identities and UI. The keyword is "select" — I'm looking for projects that have an interesting problem, not just "make it look professional." If your brief is interesting, reach out via Contact.
Yes. I'm building blog.shushank.in as a proper home for articles. Until then, I publish on Medium. Topics: web dev, privacy engineering, music production, and the strange intersection of medicine and technology. Some of it is even well-researched.
